CAR WRAPPING

Car wrapping, what is it anyway?

Car wrapping is an innovative method in which a special, high-quality film is accurately applied over the exterior of your car. This process of car wrapping allows you to customise the appearance of your vehicle entirely as you wish, without any permanent changes to the original paintwork. Car wrapping includes a wide range of colour options and finishes, including matt, gloss finishes and various patterns such as a carbon look, each giving your car a unique and personalised look.

A big advantage of car wrapping is its reversibility. You have the freedom to return to the original state of your car at any time, or to change the colour and style again over time. Car wrapping makes it an excellent choice for those who like to experiment with different looks or personalise their vehicle for certain occasions.

In addition, car wrapping provides a robust layer of protection for your car's underlying paintwork. It helps prevent scratches and the damaging effects of weather conditions such as UV rays and acid rain. This protective function of car wrapping helps maintain the quality and sleek appearance of the car paintwork, which not only provides aesthetic benefits but can also increase the resale value of the car. If you choose to remove the wrap, the original paint underneath will often still be in near-perfect condition, contributing to the long-term value of the vehicle.

The ability to personalise your vehicle while protecting it makes car wraps a popular choice for car enthusiasts who value both functionality and style. The process of car wrapping is reversible, meaning you can go back to the original look without much effort or expense, or opt for a new wrap to give the vehicle a fresh look again.

How long does wrapping take?

At WrapAndGo, we understand that you are curious about how long the wrapping process takes. Its duration can vary, but we will give you a general overview:

  • Standard Car Wrapping: Wrapping a standard passenger car usually takes 2 to 3 days on average.

  • Including doors and rebates: If you choose to also wrap the inside of the doors and rebates, you can expect an additional time frame of around 4 days.

  • Additional Options: If you have additional requirements such as removing chrome accents, painting calipers or other modifications, these will extend the overall project duration. We will be happy to advise you on the estimated time required for these specific modifications.

What does a car wrap cost?

Wrapping a car depends on several factors. Here are the main aspects that affect the price:

  1. Car type: For example, an Audi Q8 has about 30 individual parts to wrap, while a Tesla Model 3 has only 15. Larger vehicles, such as SUVs, often require more material and are therefore more expensive.

  2. Complexity of the Car: Vehicles with tricky corners, curves and recesses, such as sports and supercars, require more skill and time, increasing costs.

  3. Type of Foil: Standard films such as matt, gloss or satin finishes are the usual choices. However, for those looking for special films, there are options such as carbon, brushed metal, colourflow films, etc. These, in turn, have an additional cost.

The benefits of wrapping your car

Wrapping is not just changing the exterior colour of your car there are other benefits too.

  1. Easy to replace/remove: The wrap can come off as easily as it came on. And if you want something different again, we simply re-wrap it. Easy peasy.
  2. Protects against paint damage: That wrap is not just a pretty face. It also protects your car's paintwork from scratches and other woes.
  3. No discolouration by UV radiation: Sunshine is fun, but not for your car paintwork. Fortunately, the wrap blocks those harmful UV rays, so your original colour won't fade.
  4. Quick metamorphosis: Fancy a new colour or style? With car wrapping, your car can look completely different in an instant. And you don't even have to wait for the paint to dry!
  5. Unique colours: With over 500 different colours and prints, there is something for everyone.
  6. Not permanently: Unlike spraying, wrapping is not permanent. You can "easily" remove the film after months or years.
  7.

Can you also wrap the inside of the car the doors and rebates?

Yes, we can definitely wrap the inside of your doors and rebates too. This is a perfect addition to wrapping the outside, giving your car a uniform look both inside and out. By choosing this option, you ensure a smooth transition between the exterior and interior of your car.

Adding wrapping the inside of the doors and rebates to your project means we need about four extra days to complete everything. For the cost, you should count on around €500 per door. So, if you opt for this complete makeover for four doors, it comes to a total of about €2000.

Getting your car wrapped, the steps explained.

Car wrapping is a perfect way to give your vehicle a new look without actually painting. But what is involved in such a wrap process? Let's break it down.

1. Preparation: Car wrapping starts with careful preparation. The car is thoroughly cleaned to remove all dirt and grease, essential for seamless adhesion of the wrap.

2. Disassembly: Certain parts such as mirrors, handles and antennas can be removed. This makes wrapping easier and ensures a tighter and more beautiful result.

3. Application: This is where the magic of car wrapping really comes to life. Our professionals apply the vinyl film precisely, applying super tightly without wrinkles and air bubbles.

4. Finishing touches: After application, it's all about the details. Edges and corners are carefully finished and excess film is removed.

5. Remounting: Removed parts are carefully replaced.

6. Inspection: Before going any further, a final thorough inspection is carried out to make sure everything looks super tight and we haven't overlooked anything.

7. Disclosure: The best part! We are going to reveal the car with new wrap to you.

With us, car wrapping is more than a service; it is a craft where quality and passion are paramount.

Maintenance tips for wrapped cars

You have just invested in a premium car wrap from Wrap&Go and naturally want it to stay looking brand new and shiny for as long as possible. Good maintenance is essential for this. Here are some tips to keep your new wrap in top condition:

1. Regular Washing:
Dirt and contaminants can build up on the wrap, leading to staining and fading. We recommend washing your car at least twice a month. Here, hand washing is the best choice, as it allows you to thoroughly and carefully clean every part of your car.

2. Car wash:
Should you opt for a car wash, make sure you go for a quality one. Softer brushes and better shampoos are kinder to your wrap and reduce the chances of scratches.

3. Ceramic Coating:
Applying a ceramic coating is a smart move for both matt and glossy wraps. We recommend Gtechniq's coating, a high-quality product that forms a protective layer over your wrap. This protects it from factors such as UV rays, bird droppings and acid rain. The coating ensures that your wrap retains its original look, whether matt or glossy. The biggest advantage? This high-quality protection lasts for up to 2 years, keeping your wrap looking like new for longer. Moreover, the Gtechniq coating has a hydrophobic effect, allowing water and dirt to easily slide off the surface, making cleaning your wrapped vehicle a breeze.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT CAR WRAPPING

  • How should I maintain my wrap?
Most importantly, the car should be washed regularly. Best is to do this every 2 weeks. This can be hand washing or you can take the car through the car wash, but it is important to go to a good car wash. We are not responsible for scratches or other damage. Best remains to wash by hand. We also recommend choosing a ceramic coating over a wrap because:
    1. Long-lasting shine: A ceramic coating preserves the shine of the wrap longer and enhances the colours.
    2. Easier Cleaning: The coating provides a smooth surface that repels dirt and water, making cleaning easier.
    3. Protection from Damage: It offers protection against scratches, stone chips and other light damage, keeping your wrap beautiful for longer.
    4. Preservation of Investment: It not only protects the look of your wrap, but also preserves the value of your vehicle.
    5. Total Protection: A ceramic coating forms an invisible shield that protects your wrap and paint from all kinds of environmental factors, including UV radiation.
  • Can the car be wrapped on location?
For private individuals, we only wrap cars in our own workshop. We can make an exception for dealer companies and wrap the car in a clean, dust-free and well-lit room.
  • Do you only do car wrapping?
No, we do more than just car wrapping.
You can have the following work carried out by us:
    * Window tinting
    * Spray rims and calipers
    * Delivery of rims and exhaust systems
    * Installation of body kits
    * Installation of multimedia systems and dashcams.
  • I have rubber window strips, can they be wrapped?
No, rubber window frames cannot be wrapped. The film does not adhere to this "soft" surface. Film adheres only to painted parts or, for example, to chrome parts.
Foil also does not adhere to the unpainted plastic parts that you often see on a car, for example.
  • Is the removal of the wrap free of charge?
No, this is not included. The removal of the wrap costs on average between €300 and €500. This depends on the size of the car and how long the film has been on it. Removing the wrap takes between 1 and 1,5 days on average.
  • Do you cut on the lacquer?
No, we use a special cutting tape that guarantees no damage to the paintwork.
  • Can I take my wrapped car through the car wash?
Film manufacturers do not recommend driving through a car wash. In our experience, you can easily drive your wrapped car through a car wash for a suitable programme. Preferably a reasonably modern car wash with soft brushes rather than an older car wash with harder brushes. However, we would like to point out that using the car wash is entirely at your own risk.

Stains such as bird droppings, tree bark and tar should be removed as soon as possible to prevent the stains from being embedded in the film. We sell special cleaning products that you can keep in the car to remove the stains immediately. We recommend maintaining the carwrap with Meguiars products. These are all available from our shop and webshop (www.teslastuff.nl).
  • Can everything on a car be wrapped?
Unpainted plastic parts, such as some door strips, mirrors and bumpers cannot be wrapped. Only smooth parts such as the paintwork and, for example, chrome window frames can be wrapped.
  • Why can I have my car wrapped by another carwrap company for much less?
Everything has to do with the material used and the method of working. We dismantle everything so that we can neatly conceal the film everywhere and do not simply cut the film off anywhere. A perfect finish takes time and is very important for the life span of your wrap. A well applied car wrap will last at least 5 to 7 years. We therefore provide a 3-year warranty on the installation of the film.
  • Will any parts be removed from my car?
Yes, we disassemble the mirrors, handles, window frames and front bumper, among other things. We do this to be able to deliver the best quality. In our opinion, a perfect car wrap is not possible without dismantling.
