FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
- My belt is fraying at the edges, is this still safe?Frayed or worn edges can reduce the strength and function of the belt. We recommend getting a fraying belt replaced as soon as possible.
- My seat belt is stuck, can you fix it?You have a problem with a stuck seatbelt? That sounds annoying! Unfortunately, we cannot repair this particular problem. Our speciality lies in replacing seatbelt straps. If your belt is stuck, chances are that the problem lies with the tensioner, and it would need to be replaced.
- Are there legal requirements that seat belts must meet when replaced?Yes, replacement seatbelts must comply with European safety standards. We guarantee that all our replacement belts meet these standards.
- Is there a warranty on painting calipers?
Yes we offer 1-year warranty if we paint the calipers on the car. And we give 3 years warranty if we disassemble the calipers and then spray them. This is because the pretreatment is better when disassembling than spraying on the car.
- Is the paint used heat-resistant?
Yes, the paint we use is specially designed to withstand the high temperatures calipers can reach during braking.
- Does painting calipers affect braking performance?
No, painting calipers does not affect braking performance.
- What is the difference between caliper paint and regular paint?
Caliper paint is heat-resistant and specially designed for use on calipers, while ordinary paint cannot withstand the high temperatures calipers can reach.
- What does caliper painting cost?
Brake calipers paint cost 395.- for 4 pieces. For 2 pieces. This is on the basis that we paint the calipers on the car. We then tape the calipers all the way down, sand them, degrease them and then spray the calipers.
Another way is to dismantle the calipers, sandblast them and then spray them. The advantage of this method is that we can work much more accurately, and the adhesion is much better. You also get a 3-year warranty instead of a 1-year warranty. Costs are +/- 995,- - What colours can I have the calipers painted? We can paint the calipers in any colour you want. Standard colours included in the price are red, yellow, purple, silver, blue, white and black. For an extra charge, we can paint the callipers in any colour you want.
- How should I maintain my wrap? Most importantly, the car should be washed regularly. Best is to do this every 2 weeks. This can be hand washing or you can take the car through the car wash, but it is important to go to a good car wash. We are not responsible for scratches or other damage. Best remains to wash by hand. We also recommend choosing a ceramic coating over a wrap because:
- Long-lasting shine: A ceramic coating preserves the shine of the wrap longer and enhances the colours.
- Easier Cleaning: The coating provides a smooth surface that repels dirt and water, making cleaning easier.
- Protection from Damage: It offers protection against scratches, stone chips and other light damage, keeping your wrap beautiful for longer.
- Preservation of Investment: It not only protects the look of your wrap, but also preserves the value of your vehicle.
- Total Protection: A ceramic coating forms an invisible shield that protects your wrap and paint from all kinds of environmental factors, including UV radiation.
- Is the removal of the wrap free of charge? No, this is not included. The removal of the wrap costs on average between €300 and €500. This depends on the size of the car and how long the film has been on it. Removing the wrap takes between 1 and 1,5 days on average.
- Do you cut on the lacquer? No, we use a special cutting tape that guarantees no damage to the paintwork.
- I want to have my headlights/rearlights tinted, is this allowed? No, it is not permitted to apply film to lights both front and rear. However, provided that it is done properly and not too dark, the MOT inspector will approve it 9 out of 10 times because it is not visible that it is a film. However, we would like to emphasise that having your headlights/rearlights tinted is at your own risk.
- Can I take my wrapped car through the car wash?Film manufacturers do not recommend driving through a car wash. In our experience, you can easily drive your wrapped car through a car wash for a suitable programme. Preferably a reasonably modern car wash with soft brushes rather than an older car wash with harder brushes. However, we would like to point out that using the car wash is entirely at your own risk.ÂStains such as bird droppings, tree bark and tar should be removed as soon as possible to prevent the stains from being embedded in the film. We sell special cleaning products that you can keep in the car to remove the stains immediately. We recommend maintaining the carwrap with Meguiars products. These are all available from our shop and webshop (www.teslastuff.nl).
- Can everything on a car be wrapped?Unpainted plastic parts, such as some door strips, mirrors and bumpers cannot be wrapped. Only smooth parts such as the paintwork and, for example, chrome window frames can be wrapped.
