KITCHEN WRAPPING

Kitchen wrapping, what is it anyway?

Kitchen wrap is a smart choice for those who want to freshen up their kitchen without a complete renovation. With special vinyl film, available in a variety of colours and finishes such as matt, gloss and textures that mimic wood or marble, you can transform any surface from cabinet doors to appliances. Not only is this approach cost-effective, it is also non-permanent, meaning you can always go back to the original or go for a new look without damaging the surface. Moreover, the film protects against scratches and moisture, keeping your kitchen looking great for longer. It is an ideal way to add a personal touch to your kitchen, while also benefiting from practical advantages such as durability and easy maintenance. Kitchen wrapping is therefore both an aesthetic and practical upgrade for any home.

What does a kitchen wrap cost?

The cost of a kitchen wrap can vary depending on various factors, but for a good indication, you can count on an average price of €75 excluding VAT per element, including the film. This rate applies to any part of your kitchen, whether it's a small drawer, a large fridge door or a standard cabinet. This pricing makes it easy to estimate the total cost of wrapping your kitchen. For an exact quote, it is advisable to send a photo of your kitchen so that the cost can be determined more accurately. That way, you can already make your own calculation and estimate what wrapping your kitchen will cost approximately.

What are the benefits?

1. Cost-effectiveness

Wrapping is an affordable option compared to completely renovating or replacing kitchen cabinets. It offers significant savings without compromising the look of your kitchen.

2. Rapid Transformation

Unlike a full renovation, which can take weeks, kitchen wrapping can often be completed within days, giving your kitchen a new look quickly.

3. Extensive choices

With a wide range of available colours, patterns and textures, you can design your kitchen exactly as you envisage. From modern matt finishes to classic wood-grain textures, there is something for everyone.

4. Reversibility

Want to return to the original state of your kitchen later or are you ready for a new look? No problem! Wrapping is completely reversible, with no permanent changes to your kitchen cabinets.

5. Protection

The vinyl film protects the underlying surfaces from wear, scratches, and moisture, extending the life of your kitchen cabinets.

6. Easy Maintenance

Foil surfaces are easy to clean and maintain. A damp cloth is often enough to make your kitchen look like new again.

7. Sustainability

Modern vinyl films are highly durable and can withstand the daily wear and tear of a busy kitchen, keeping your kitchen looking great for longer.

8. Environmentally friendly

By choosing wrapping instead of complete replacement, you contribute to reducing waste. Your current kitchen parts get a second life, which is better for the environment.

How long does a kitchen wrap take?

Wrapping a kitchen is an efficient process that can often be completed within one day, depending on the size and complexity of the kitchen. Small kitchens can sometimes be transformed in just a few hours, while larger projects take slightly longer. The preparation, measuring, cutting and application of the film is carried out with care and precision, but thanks to modern techniques and experience of the installers, inconvenience is minimal. A clean working environment is guaranteed, allowing your kitchen to be back in use quickly. For an exact timeframe, it is always best to contact us in advance.

How does it work?

The process of kitchen wrapping involves several steps that are carefully carried out to ensure that the end result is both aesthetically pleasing and durable. Here is how it works:

1. Preparation

The first step is thorough preparation of the surfaces that will be wrapped. This includes cleaning the kitchen cabinets, drawers and other surfaces to remove dirt, grease and other contaminants. A clean surface is essential for proper adhesion of the film.

2. Disassembly (if necessary)

Occasionally, it is necessary to dismantle a cabinet to apply the film correctly. Thanks to the convenient click system of most kitchen cabinets, this process is easy and quick, without the risk of damage.

3. Measuring and cutting

The vinyl film is then cut to size to fit precisely over the surfaces to be wrapped. This requires precise measurements and a careful approach to ensure that the film fits perfectly, without excess material or falling short.

4. Applying the film

The cut film pieces are then carefully applied to the surfaces. This process is done by hand, using special tools such as spatulas and heat guns to smooth the film, remove air bubbles and ensure that the film adheres seamlessly to any surface.

5. Finishing and Clean Work

After the film is applied, the edges are neatly finished and any excess pieces of film are removed. The work area remains clean and free of dust and debris throughout the process, allowing the kitchen to be back in use quickly.

6. Fast delivery

The entire kitchen can often be completely transformed within just one day, minimising inconvenience to the household.

7. Inspection and handover

Finally, the entire project is carefully inspected to ensure that the wrapping has been done correctly and satisfactorily. Any adjustments or corrections are made to ensure the customer is fully satisfied with the result.

Do you also do interior kitchen door wraps?

Yes, we can technically also wrap the inside of the doors, although in practice this is rarely done. This is because wrapping the insides is often not visible when the cabinets are closed, and the process can be time-consuming and therefore more costly for something that has less impact on the overall look of the kitchen. However, what we do regularly is inlay the edges with foil. This ensures that, when the cabinets are open, you see less of the original white or colour through the edges. This detail contributes to a more uniform and finished look of the entire kitchen, even when the cabinets are open.

Wrapped kitchen maintenance

1. Regular cleaning

Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the wrapped surfaces. A mixture of water and a mild detergent is usually sufficient for daily cleaning.

2. Avoid harsh abrasives

Abrasives, hard brushes or scouring sponges can damage the film. Choose soft cloths or sponges to avoid scratches.

3. Beware of heat

Although quality foil is heat-resistant, avoid direct contact with hot pans or appliances. Use trivets or protective mats to protect the foil.

4. Be Careful with Sharp Objects

Sharp objects such as knives can cause cuts or tears in the film. Always use a cutting board, not directly on the wrapped surface.

5. Quickly remove stains

Remove stains as soon as possible to avoid soaking in. Most stains can be removed with a soft cloth and a mild detergent.

6. Periodic inspection

Occasionally check the edges and corners of the film for signs of wear or loosening. Early detection can help fix small problems before they get bigger.
